I really am a sucker for a good RPG on the Commodore 64 or Amiga, and new on my radar is a CRPG being created by Sarah Jane Avery. You may be familiar with some of her other works; aside from being a well established self published author of many books, she is a hardcore retro game player and programmer, with a deep love for the C64.
Over the past years she has created and released a handful of excellent games for the C64, all available over on ITCH for purchase and download. Notable titles include Zeta Wing 1 & 2, Strike Back, and of course highly regard Briley Witch Chronicles 1 & 2.

New RPG!
I follow Sarah Jane Avery over on “X”, and have been delighted the past few weeks to see her post some images and comments about a new RPG she is making for the C64. As of yet the game is not named, but she is hard at work on it, and the screen shots look fantastic so far.

I’m curious to see how the various character classes will play. What can the “dancer” class do? I’m sure it will be clever… if you played the Briley Witch Chronicles, you know first hand that Sarah Jane Avery has an interesting means of setting up and telling a story that is plot and character driven.
Release Date?
I am not sure what the expected release date will be for this new game. But I’m sure it will not be too far out. Probably sometime in 2025. Makes me wonder why it takes some developers years, decades even, to release a game, if ever.
